Riley Green first started garnering attention thanks to his 2015 song “Bury Me In Dixie,” which had him singing about all the things he loves about his home state of Alabama. But it seems now the song is stirring up a little controversy, and he’s distancing himself from it.
The tune includes the line “I wish Robert E. Lee could come and take a bow” which many are taking issue with because it praises the famed Confederate general, as well as what he represents.
Well, now “Rolling Stone” reports that Riley has pulled the song from all streaming services because of the controversy, and insiders say it was also pulled from all digital services because of the line.
