Lady Antebellum are set to release their new album “Ocean” next month, featuring the single “What If I Never Get Over You” and Charles Kelley says the band new right away that the tune had to be the first song released from the album.
“We had a lot of other really special songs that we recorded,” Charles shares. “But to me it’s probably my favorite thing we’ve put out since around those second, third records.” He adds, “I do think at the core of us, it’s definitely more of this type of a sound.”
The band didn’t write the song, but Charles says as soon as he heard it he knew it was “a monster.” It was his idea to turn it into a duet though, noting, “The duet’s going to make it even more heartbreaking. What if I never get over you and what if it’s both people are feeling the same thing? Like maybe they missed out on this thing.’”
